Here is what I wrote December 2006 . I still feel the same way one year later :
I AM GETTING INCREASINGLY WARY ABOUT THE WAY CHRISTMAS IS SO
"GIVE ME" AND
"I DESERVE"
CHRISTMAS IS NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU GET .
IT IS NOT ABOUT WHO HAS THE MOST.
IT IS NOT ABOUT "MY KID WILL BE SO SAD IF THEY DON'T GET THIS $$$$$$$$$$ TOY "
CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT WHAT IS INSIDE YOUR HEART ,AND HOW YOU CONVEY THAT TO YOUR CHILDREN.

DOES ANYONE REMEMBER
THE ORIGINAL CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS SHOW ?

The kids are putting on a Christmas pagent ,and no one is listening to Charlie Brown's directions as the director of the show. They all want to party and even Snoopy , Charlie Brown's dog , has gone commercial by entering a contest and decorating his dog house so that it looks like a Los Vegas bill board . Charlie Brown is getting confused and this is what he says :
Charlie Brown : " Isn't there anybody who can tell me what Christmas is all about ? "
Linus : " I can tell you what Christmas is all about , Charlie Brown ."
REMEMBER WHAT LINUS SAID NEXT ? :
St. Luke 2
1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyre'ni-us was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

5 to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace,
good will toward men.
Then Linus said " And that is what
Christmas is
all about
Charlie Brown."

What is this free Gift that God offers through His Son ?
What can we give back to Jesus ?
The gift that we need to give
to Jesus for
His birthday this year is

be in His presence.
