FREE AND LOW COST DENTAL HELP
FOR DENTURES , BROKEN TEETH ,
PAIN , Fillings , Dental Surgery , and in Some Cases Free Dental Cosmetic and Reconstructive Assistance.
Unfortunately , Kalamazoo county is lacking in true top quality dental care for it's low income residents. A quote from the Michigan Department of Health site :
"Considerable statewide efforts are needed to assist Michigan in achieving the standards set forth by Healthy People 2010. Children and adults in Michigan should not suffer from pain, loss of employment or school hours, have difficulty chewing food or speaking, or face social decline due to a preventable disease."
INTRODUCTION TO ORAL HEALTH (BY THE MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH)
Let's hope that someone involved with this program can ensure that effort is put towards it to make it work for all of those in Kalamazoo County that are suffering with oral health problems.
DENTAL HEALTH CLINICS
(Please note : although these clinics do have dental help , most will not do restorative dental care. This most likely means that a problem tooth will be extracted. Call the clinic to find out their procedure if you are concerned about this possibility. )

Donated Dental Services (DDS)
Donated Dental lists help for disabled individuals , however , reading the words in intalics , it seems to also help those who are medically compromised and might have immune deficiency challenges.
The Donated Dental Services (DDS) program is a collaborative, direct way that the dental profession reaches out to individuals with special needs.
DDS tends to the essential and comprehensive dental care needs of disabled, elderly or medically-compromised individuals who cannot afford necessary treatment nor get public aid. DDS patients have slipped through the cracks of Medicaid and Medicare programs with nowhere else to turn."
