There are many charities out there that help low income and needy moms but the demand seems to way exceed the amount of help available. Inspired by the generosity of others in my area. This is for Bakersfield, CA and the immediate surrounding areas. I want to keep the spirit and heart felt giving of Christmas alive all throughout the year. We all experience hard times, and trying to make ends meet is a challenge. We try our best and do what we can, but there are times when we all need some help. And, there is something very comforting in knowing that someone else cares, and understands what you are going through. Generally, that only happens once a year, in December, which is great. However, we could all use that spirit other months of the year too.
With this group, I want anyone to feel welcome in joining, both families needing assistance and those wanting to help out. As you join, if you are a family in need, please email me information about your family, what is needed, and how we can help. Then, each month, throughout the year, I will choose one family to bless with donations. Each small thing that 1 person does, can add up to help another person in need. When you are out shopping, simply pick up an extra pack of sponges, or bottle of dish soap, or that extra box of cereal. I will meet with everyone at a central location, once a month, and collect all items, and deliver to the family. This group was set up for those charities and families that live in the Charlotte, North Carolina/Fort Mill, South Carolina region who have temporary needs and wishes throughout the year and especially during the holiday season. For those who are struggling to buy school supplies, food, clothing, find transportation, provide for their families during the holidays and during the year. This is a place to post your "Adopt-A-Family" messages and "Needy Child" Wish Lists. This site will only open to anyone from 0 to 99 needing assistance, no matter what the assistance would be for. This group was created to help families in West Tn. and surrounding areas.
We are now accepting applications for the Oct through Dec 2007 season. Please remember, this is a small site and we may be unable to provide help for all that is in need but we will do our best to provide for all that we can as members. 'Tis the season for excitement and expectations! And, while parents are ultimately responsible for providing Thanksgiving and Christmas joy for their children, many will need assistance. Fortunately, others are willing to help. Both donors and those in need are welcome here. So please join in on the group if you will be in need this season and if you are in a position to help please join and adopt a family in need. There are several outlets for people that are struggling at Christmas time like Toys for Tots, local churches, etc. but sometimes those places will turn away a family in need because they are not considered poverty level and at times situations arise that even families that make above the poverty level will need help. Hopefully this site will help those that have no other place to turn. Christmas Angels in West Tn serves as a site for Thanksgiving and Christmas adoptees and donors, but if you are needing assistance with things such as birthday for child under age 12, diapers and other necessities please post these as well because someone may be able to help. If you would like to help but, can't adopt a whole family and would like to donate a single item then, you may do so. For those of you donating a single item please, specify in the subject line. I have a database set up for all applicants in need. Thank you for joining and May God bless you all this season.
